Monday Meditation & Sound
This weekly class is beginner friendly and explores different types and approaches to meditation from various cultures and teachings, including: focused, unfocused, guided, with sound, with movement, mantra, and more. The instructor will share as best he can what he has learned from excellent teachers and varied life experience. Influence and inspiration for this class comes from a variety of traditions including Bon Buddhism and Native American origin, with a grounding incorporation of ritual and sound in meditation. There will be a different theme or topic each night, from mindfulness to mantra, smudging and sound. Facilitated in an informal and loosely structured style, each class will include sound bath with metallic bowls facilitated by a certified sound healing practitioner, and may occasionally be substituted for or complimented by drum meditation or mantra recitation.
